Robert Dudley:

Earl of Leicester, Baron Denbigh
Counsellor and favourite of Queen Elizabeth I, rumoured to be her lover.
His reputation was stained a trifle by the suspicious circumstances of his wife's
death in 1560 - supposedly arranged by him on order to be free for Elizabeth,
who rejected him and even suggested he should go for Mary Queen of Scots.
He died suddenly, it is said by poison.
